Encourage the Discovery of Potential
- Students will break the boundaries of what they thought they were capable of, discover and celebrate who they really are.
- Focusing on expanding their leadership skills, embracing teamwork and delivering peak performance, students will increase their personal power, energy, joy and caring for the world around them, effectively taking action to achieve their potential.
Establish and Develop Critical Leadership Skills
- Leadership behavior (cooperation and conflict resolution, teamwork, keeping yourself and others motivated, getting along in a group of diverse people)
- Competence (build knowledge and skills, organization and management techniques, technical ability)
- Communication (timely, specific, clear feedback; active listening; state what you think, feel and want; put yourself in other people's shoes during conflicts)
- Judgment and decision-making (situational-appropriate decision-making; using experience to develop good judgment; use strengths and knowledge of others to solve problems)
- Tolerance for adversity and uncertainty (learning to endure and enjoy hard work; adapt to changes and unknowns; see challenges as opportunities; use humour to keep things in perspective; make focused decisions under stress)

Stimulate Interpersonal Effectiveness - Build Meaningful Relationships
- Students will learn to respond effectively to others and engage in open and respectful communication, advance their ability to work in groups, learn to value and respect themselves and others, value and accept diversity, develop trust and be trustworthy.
Create Environmental Awareness - Respect for and Preservation of Nature
- Students will gain an increased understanding of and respect for the fragile nature of the wilderness and a deepened sense of responsibility for its care through the practice of "Leave No Trace Camping". The importance of environmental stewardship will be emphasized throughout the program as students develop a sense of their place and relationship to the land.
Promote Lifelong Learning
- Students will be provided with two weeks of adventure and experiential learning that will build confidence in their ability to learn, kindle a sense of adventure around developing new skills, and an enthusiasm for challenging themselves to achieve.
