IDC 2010 Arctic Youth Leadership Program Launch and Update

The 2010 Arctic Youth Leadership program has begun! Students from across the Inuvialuit Settlement Region and the 3 regions of Nunavut arrived in Inuvik on Thursday July 15th. Pre-expedition activities began immediately and moved at a fast pace with sight‐seeing in Inuvik, a visit to the Great Northern Arts Festival and a major barbeque at the Arctic Chalet. Then on to practical things, packing and equipping for the 14 day expedition and leadership training down the Horton River. Building on last year's successfully integrated program, the expedition is again integrated offering both Inuit and Inuvialuit youth a cross‐cultural experience.
